Description:

It is a beautiful succulent plant of oriental origin, made up of multiple small rosettes that propagate quickly at the end of long stems. Each rosette is made up of small spire-shaped leaves, elongated and pointed at the tip, which give the plant the common name of "donkey's hat" due to the cone-shaped arrangement of the individual rosettes. The skin, thanks to a sort of whitish wax that covers the plant, takes on pleasant shades of silver and lilac, which certainly will not allow it to go unnoticed. Orostachys iwarenge is also famous for being a monocarpic plant, which means that it produces small, delicate white flowers once in a lifetime, but fear not: the pretty rosettes propagate and root so fast that you will continue to have your wonderful succulent plant!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight.

It is better to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 4 °C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered and ventilated locations during the winter period.

Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.

The best soil is a well-draining one, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
