O. pachypus is a shrub native to Madagascar and is used to a warm climate. Its name comes from the Greek 'pachypus' means big foot. Its stem is similar to that of a bonsai reaching 1 m in height: at the base it is wide, with roots that grow and take very particular forms. It has numerous branches arranged almost in zigzag by the gray-silver color. Its leaves are numerous , of intense green color and have a shape that can be oval, elongated or similar to a drop. During the flowering period, late winter, this plant gives small green or yellowish flowers.
