Notocactus mueller-melchersii

This globe-shaped cactus is native to Uruguay. Its stem of opaque green color is equipped with marked ribs on which there are white and fluffy areoles from which emerge its radial and central spines. The former are thin pale yellow with darker tips and the central plug is 1, robust, dark brown. Its flowers bloom at the apex of the stem and are light yellow in color. The flowering season is summer.
