Neoporteria subgibbosa

Generally a solitary cactus, which grows in height and tends to tilt, when it reaches considerable lengths. It comes in many variations: the color of the spines varies from golden to dark brown, as well as their thickness may differ. The Neoporteria subgibbosa has a body made up of ribs, similar to tubercles, the color of which can vary from dark green to purple. It has large downy whitish areoles. Flowering is unusual as it occurs in late winter. The plant blooms with funnel-shaped flowers of pink and magenta shades.
