Description:
This spherical cactus is very small, but also very uniform and geometric. It has a typical purplish color body (the color gets intensified with exposure to the sun), with well-defined rhomboid ribs, narrow white areoles and small black, combed spines, that are well attached to the body of the plant. Its inflorescences at the apex of the plant are funnel-shaped, generally in pink and white shades, formed by thin petals and arranged in several layers, which give a silk-like shine effect.

Plant care:
It likes very bright places, however, avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day.
It prefers rather mild temperatures, however it still survives even at temperatures close to freezing if the soil is dry.
Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, and suspend watering completely in winter.
The best soil is a well-draining one, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
