Neoporteria intermedia var. pulchella

It is a globose cactus of a typical purple color (which gets intensified with exposure to the sun), consisting of ribs similar to protruding tubercles, each having whitish areoles and dark spines, almost black, thin and rather long, which increase even more in length at the apex, pointing upwards in a slightly curved way. In late spring, the plant blooms with funnel-shaped flowers, typical of this family, varying in shades from pink to fuchsia. This variety takes the name of 'pulchella' (literally means "pretty"), because it is smaller, than other cactus similar to it, making it almost a miniature, highly appreciated by green collectors.
