Also often called "Cardón", "Cone Cactus", "Wax Cactus", "Golden-Spined Saguaro" and "Golden Saguaro". Its green stem can reach up to 12 m in height. It can be rarely seen branched, so when it happens, you can admire its beautiful candlestick bearing. The term "polylopha" derives from Latin and means "many coasts", in fact its main feature is the presence of many coasts, narrow and located close to each other. Its spines look a lot like bristles: they are yellow and thin. Its diurnal flowers are red outside and pink inside.
