Description:

This is an exemplar widely appreciated not only for its caudiciform appearance, but also for the peculiar flowers that bloom at the apex of red stems adorning the plant with their extravagant shapes and their extremely showy red-greenish notes, so beautiful as to give the succulent the epithet "magnificum". The caudex takes on an asymmetric appearance growing up to about 8 cm in diameter, and then develops into a woody and widely branched stem from which, during the vegetative season, large and flat leaves will grow, strongly veined and jagged along the margins. The foliar epidermis results of a soft green along the upper surface, which contrasts pleasantly with the intense red of the lower surface for an overall extremely ornamental appearance, perfect to give a touch of elegance to your locations!

Plant care:

It likes very bright places, however, avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day. It prefers environments with low humidity.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 15 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer and suspend watering completely in winter.

A well-draining soil is an optimal solution, even better if further enriched with 50% or more of inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
