Description:
A succulent plant with a remarkable spherical caudex, slightly elongating while growing, which usually remains exposed out of the ground: it is of a brown color, has rough texture, like bark, enriched with dense woody ribs. In the vegetative period, stems branch off from the apex of the tuber, which are more woody near the tuber and more green and flexible at the tip. Often grown as a pot ornamental plant, but in areas, such as India and Malaysia, it is mainly used for its remarkable medicinal benefits.

Plant care:
It likes very bright places, however, avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day. It prefers environments with low humidity.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.
The best soil is a well-draining one, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
