Description:

Pleasant miniature cactus, which does not exceed 15 cm in diameter and maintains a globose shape, slightly depressed at the apex. The epidermis, of a nice glaucous and opaque green, contrasts pleasantly with the radial spines that from the reddish-yellow of the youth tend to become clear, almost greyish, with the growth of the plant. Each sting is rather robust, gently curved towards the cactus body. Once the mature age is reached, when the cactus stops growing, at the apex of the plant develops a spherical cephalium of whitish wool adorned with bristles on the shades of red, from which small bright pink flowers bloom. The cephalium will then tend to grow, not in diameter but only in height, assuming a characteristic cylindrical shape that also gives an idea of the age of the plant: remaining this species of reduced size, sometimes its cephalium will reach even bigger dimensions than the plant itself, for an effect with a great scenic impact!
