Description:

The monstrous shape of this cactus presents anomalies such as asymmetries or lack of thorns, abnormalities that will never present the same in plants, making each of them very special, unique and for this reason very appreciated by collectors around the world. In its normal form it is a globose and solitary cactus that with time can tuft at the base. It has a green stem that can vary and fade towards gray and bluish. Its thorns may be few or even non-existent while in some cases they may be numerous. Its intense red flowers bloom at the top of the stem, giving the plant a particular appearance. The name of this cactus is chosen in honor of Marshall P. Madison.

Plant care:

It likes very bright places, however, avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day. It prefers environments with low humidity.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 7 ° C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered and ventilated places during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, suspend watering completely in autumn and winter.

The best soil is a well-draining one, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
