Mammillaria zephyranthoides

It is a solitary plant with a slow growth, in nature it grows dug in the ground and resembles an outstretched spider web. It is a globular cactus, depressed at the tip, of a bluish-green color. From the areoles, located at the ends of the tubercles, multiple spines emerge. The radial spines are thin, straight, silver-white, which grow parallel to the stem, while the central ones are brown and hooked. In spring, it blooms with funnel-shaped white flowers, with thin shades of light pink inside. Its inflorescence is easily recognizable, because the flowers are larger than the other Mammillarias have, in fact they can reach 4 cm size. The long, narrow petals have a silky sparkle.
