M. zeilmanniana is the most common within the Mammillaria genus, but no less fascinating. Its pink flower crown has been enchanting cactus lovers for years. Its green stem is covered with many tubercles, from the apex of which spines emerge. The radial spines are thin, straight, silver-white, which grow parallel to the stem, while the central ones are brown and strongly hooked. Generally the flower of M. zeilmanniana is bright pink, however, sometimes it can even be white.
