Mammillaria supraflumen

It was found on steep rocks at Ferriera, along the Jalisco River in Mexico. It is a small-sized cactus, generally solitary, of a globular shape and which is quite easy to grow. The green stem hides under numerous straight and sporadically hooked spines. The brown spines emerge from the large areoles, covered with a white down. It blooms from April to July, forming a crown of funnel-shaped flowers, that blend from pink to magenta.
