This exemplar of globe cactus native to Mexico is very appreciated for its particular appearance. The green stem is equipped with pronounced tubercles among which develops a white and thick down, especially at the apex of the plant. Above the tubercles are the woolly areolas from which its spines emerge: the radials are thin and of bench color while the central ones are longer and darker. The beautiful flowers of M. saetigera bloom at the apex of the plant; they have purple-pink petals with a darker midline. This cactus with its graceful appearance, especially during flowering, will give a touch of delicacy to any type of environment.
