Mammillaria saboae f. monstrous crested

The name of Mammillaria saboae honors Kathryn Sabo who discovered her in the mountains in Mexico in 1965. The crested shape of this wonderful cactus presents the typical compact fan arrangement that will never be the same from one plant to another, with the addition of geometric anomalies such as protuberances or absence of thorns, typical of the monstrosity of the cactus, which together contribute to making this piece absolutely unique, a real jewel coveted by the most experienced collectors! In its normal form it is a small cactus of very slow growth that tends to become curly and reaches a height of 4 cm. The areoles are large with thorns arranged in a corolla that resemble a centipede. In May you can admire its beautiful large flowers, which exceed the size of the plant, of intense magenta color.
