Mammillaria prolifera is also known as "Nipple Cactus" and "Grape Cactus". It is a low-growing plant, it forms many suckers around the stem, that can reach up to 50 cm in diameter. Its small green stems are covered by various thick spines, like with a spider web. The numerous radial spines are very thin, of a color, that fades from white to yellow, while the central ones are more robust and are of a brown color. The flower is creamy yellow with a darker central streak on the petals.
