Mammillaria polythele subs. durispina

In nature it grows in dense vegetations at an altitude between 2,000 and 2,350 meters above sea level. It is a solitary cactus, that can reach a height of 12 cm. Its green stem is covered with tubercles, from which long, curved spines grow, which are of a light yellow color at the base and brown towards the apex. As its name suggests, the spines are hard and sturdy. Its magenta flowers create a beautiful crown around the apex of the plant.
