Mammillaria microhelia

In nature it grows in the central part of Queretaro in Mexico among the rocks at an altitude of 2,000 to 2,600 meters above sea level. In Spanish it is called "Biznaguita". It is a columnar cactus, generally solitary, that can cluster over time. Its green stem is covered with conical and bare tubercles, from which numerous spines grow; the radial ones are white and arranged in a corolla form and resemble the sun rays, while the central spines are needle-like, straight, of a brown color. It blooms with many flowers, arranged in a crown around the apex. The color of the flower varies from green-yellow to pink-magenta, they are bell-shaped with pointed petals.
