Mammillaria huitzilopochtli

Beautiful cactacea plant that tends to remain solitary and only when it has reached mature age can rarely start to clump. M. huitzilopochtli has initially globular dark green stem, which with growth develops up to over 10 cm in height. From small and narrow conical tubercles emerge thin spines of a beautiful glassy white which take on a combed pattern and envelop the entire plant. A feature that makes this cactus easily recognizable is the presence of fluff only in the upper part of the plant, almost crowning the apex, exactly where its bright magenta flowers bloom in mid-winter.
