Description:
This cultivar is commonly known by the name "Kopper Lady Fingers". It is a cactus with a ground cover shape characterized by a large group of erect stems. It differs from Mammillaria elongata for the coloring of its coppery spines which are darker at the tips. Its downy areoles completely cover the epidermis of the stem. From these areoles numerous spines, arranged in a star shape, come out. During the spring period small pale yellow flowers bloom at the apex.

Description:

This Mammillaria looks like a clustered cactus, formed by cylindrical stems. Its tubercles are placed in a spiral along the stems. From its hairy areoles star-shaped combed spines of a yellow-gold color emerge. In spring, it blooms with small, creamy yellow, bell-shaped flowers.

Plant care:

It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce watering to once every two months in autumn, and to suspend it completely in winter.

The best soil is a well-draining one, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
