Pot: 6,5 cm.
It is a slow-growing cactus that can reach up to 10 cm in diameter. It has a dark green globose stem, densely covered with needle-like spines (hence the name of the species). In fact, from the downy whitish areoles, 5-6 rigid and long central spines emerge, of a color that fades from pale yellow to dark brown towards the tip, whilst the radial spines (20-25) are thinner, of a white or pale yellow color. In spring, it blooms with funnel-shaped inflorescences of a color that can vary between yellow, orange and purple.
