Mammillaria crinita

M crinita is a small cactus that is easily tufts. It has a globose stem of intense green color equipped with numerous protruding tubercles. Above the tubercles are the fluffy white areolas from which its radial and central spines emerge. The radial spines arranged in rays are thin, white and numerous; the central spines, on the contrary, are longer, of brown/reddish color slightly curved at the apex. The beautiful flowers of M. crinita bloom at the apex of the stem and are white or yellow with a median line of pink color.
