Mammillaria centraliplumosa f. variegated

The variegated shape of this cactus has yellowish shades of color in places where there is a lack of chlorophyll; such 'spots' will never appear identical in different plants, making each one unique and for this reason highly appreciated by collectors around the world. In its normal form M. centraliplumosa is a small cactus initially solitary but with time tufts at the base. The stem of green or dark green color has numerous protruding tubercles on which there are found fluffy areoles. From the latter come out its radial and central spines: the first, radially arranged, are short, thin and whitish; the central ones, on the contrary, are longer and robust of brown color. The beautiful flowers of M. centraliplumosa f. variegated bloom at the apex of the stem and are purple or fuchsia.
