Mammillaria camptotricha

It is a small cactacea of a globular shape slightly concave at the apex. It is characterized by long and twisted spines, that completely wrap the plant, which is why it is more commonly known as "Bird's Nest Cactus". It has soft, long and thin tubercles, typically found in Dolicothele, from where long needle-like spines grow, varying in different shades of yellow. In late summer, it blooms with small white funnel-shaped flowers.
