M. brauneana it’s a cactaceae very appreciated by collectors for the wonderful chromatic contrasts it generates. It has a globose stem, slightly depressed at the apex, of a nice pale green and equipped with prominent rhomboidal tubercles, among which develops a thick and soft candid down. From the clear and perfectly roundish areolas come out thin and well straight radial thorns, short and of an almost vitreous white, which are arranged radially. The central thorns, on the contrary, especially at the apex of the cactus, are brownish, shaded black on the tip and pointing upwards. The pleasant chromatic union is generated especially in spring, when at the apex of the plant blooms a showy crown of purple-red flowers, with often darker median line: the resulting contrast will leave you speechless!
