Mammillaria brandegeei

Pleasant globe-shaped cactus, slightly depressed at the apex, which can become columnar with growth. Of a beautiful emerald green, it is equipped with very pronounced conical tubercles, almost pointed, from which small roundish yellowish areoles protrude. Its radial spines are needle-like, rather long, thin and bent to embrace the stem, whilst the central ones, rather sparse, are longer and brownish, almost black. In spring the charm of this wonderful Mammillaria will be amplified by small but graceful pale yellow flowers that will crown the apex of the cactus.
