Mammillaria blossfeldiana

This specimen of Mammillaria native to California is highly prized for its attractive appearance. It has a globose green stem, equipped with tubercles above which are downy areoles. Its spines are radial and central: the former are arranged in a radial pattern and yellowish white in colour while the latter are dark, longer. The beautiful flowers of M. blossfeldiana bloom at the apex of the stem, they are light pink in colour with a broad fuxia midline.
