It is a cactaceae plant often also called ‘Tephrocactus glomerata’ or ‘Opuntia glomerata’. It is very particular cactus with extremely variable spines, often very sparse or missing. Equipped with globose and ovoid joints of a dark greyish-green color, it is found at rather high altitudes. It has tiny, slightly downy areoles and tends to branch out considerably, forming dense bushes.
