Description:

It is a small cactus of a globular shape, which tends to become cylindrical with growth, equipped with deep longitudinal ribs, thickly covered with spines. The characteristic, for which these plants are most appreciated, is undoubtedly the presence, in summer, of its truly spectacular flowers: large funnel-shaped inflorescences (often larger, than the cactus itself!) bloom from the sides of the stem, are of very bright and varied colors, sometimes even enriched by evident shades within the same petal.

Plant care:

It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, and suspend watering completely in winter.

A well draining soil is an optimal solution, for example a mixture of peat and sand so that the water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
