Lobivia marsoneri

This exemplar of cactus native to northern Argentina, has a globose shape and tends with the growth to become cylindrical and slightly flattened at the apex. Its green or dark green stem has vertical tuberculate ribs with fluffy white areolas on top. From these areolas come out its radial and central spines; the first are numerous and thin while the central ones are more robust of brownish color, almost red, some even hooked. Its beautiful flowers bloom at the apex of the plant and have colors ranging from yellow to orange and red.
