Art. 29240
Its name honors the Californian botanist William Hertrich. In nature it grows on rocks at altitudes between 3,000 and 3,500 m asl. It is a solitary, globular cactus, that tends to stretch up, as it grows. It is covered with dense yellow spines, intertwined with each other, which obscure the green stem. The flowers are large and very showy, the color varies from yellow, pink to red.
