Description:
Globose cactus slightly depressed at the top, intense dark green color, with prominent and narrow longitudinal ribs and large white areoles. It has robust whitish radial spines arranged like the legs of a spider to wrap around the body of the cactus, and usually a single central spine much longer and sturdier, brownish and facing upwards, sometimes slightly curved. In spring the charm of this plant is amplified by large inflorescences of a strong red color, which bloom on the side of the stem.

It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, and suspend watering completely in winter.
A well draining soil is an optimal solution, for example a mixture of peat and sand so that the water does not stagnate.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
