Lobivia grandiflora

Cactacea with globose stem, tending with the growth to become columnar, formed by marked longitudinal and rather close ribs, along which are present clear areoles equipped with short brownish thorns, thin and well straight. The fundamental characteristic of this cactus is without doubt the gigantic flower (hence the name of the species itself): during the summer season, along the stem, large flowers with multi-layered petals bloom, with petals usually of a nice bright red colour (but sometimes even yellow or orange) and throat darker, so beautiful that will bring a charm and an incomparable liveliness in your locations!
