Lobivia deesziana

L. deesziana is a globe-shaped cactus that with growth tends to become cylindrical and expands horizontally creating new shoots. Its dark green stem has several well marked ribs, on which we can notice yellowish and woolly areoles from which radial and central thorns come out. The radial spines are numerous, thin and yellow, while the central ones have a brown hue and are more robust. The name of L. deesziana is a nice anagram of Bolivia, the state from which almost all species of this genus come. During the flowering period, this magnificent cactus gives us beautiful flowers in the shape of a daisy, with elongated petals that end with a tip, with very bright colors of orange or reddish tones.
