Lobivia chionantha

L. chionantha is a globus-shaped cactus that becomes slightly cylindrical while the plant grows. It has a dark green stem, enriched by numerous ribs. The aureoles at the apices of the tubercles are yellow and woolly, from these ones, radial and central spines come out, of a yellow colour with reddish tips. The bell-shaped flowers of L. chionantha are hairy and their colour varies from yellow to orange, up to pink. The Lobivia in general, in the warm periods offer wonderful inflorescences from the diameter up to 10 cm, which cover the entire plant with the most lively colourations.
