Commonly called "Cactus Agave" due to its resemblance, this plant does not actually look to be part of the Cactaceae family. Leuchtenbergia principis f.crestata is a very rare plant appreciated by collectors for its particular shape, which makes each specimen unique in its kind. The stem has long tubercles (up to 13-14 centimeters) of a greyish-green color and triangular section similar to the leaves of Agave, but unlike it they do not end with a rigid spine, but leave space for areoles with gray fluff with long and flexible thorns.
