Gymnocalycium vatteri

A spherical cactus, usually solitary, but with growth it tends to cluster at the base. Its opaque blue-green stem has prominent tubercles, at the apex of which oval downy areoles can be seen. The spines are stiff, long and combed towards the body, of a color, ranging from gray to pink. In summer, large pinkish-white flowers bloom at the apex of the plant.
