Description:

Globose cactus of a bright dark green, slightly depressed at the apex, tending to maintain contained dimensions adorned of longitudinal ribs little marked but deeply tuberculate. The variegated shape of this cactus presents the typical lighter areas in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent: these characteristics will never be the same from one plant to another, therefore each specimen will be absolutely unique! From white roundish and woolly areolas come out short whitish spines, very thin and tending to wrap the stem, which dispose like the legs of a spider while maintaining, however, a wavy and asymmetrical trend at times. At the apex of the cactus bloom, in spring, large funnel-shaped flowers on the notes of white or light pink that often exceed the size of the plant itself, showing their extremely showy and ornamental character.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 7 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce watering to once every two months in autumn, and to suspend it completely in winter.

The best soil is a well draining one, for example formed by a mixture of peat and pumice so that the water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
