Gymnocalycium neuhuberi

Small, slow-growing cactus, generally solitary, which has the typical globular shape but slightly depressed at the apex and an opaque bluish-green color. The rounded tubercles and the color of the stem are partially hidden by long cream-colored, or sometimes more burnished, thorns which curve slightly. Between spring and summer, the wild aspect of the cacti is "softened" by its spectacular magenta flowers, which bloom at the apex of the stem, giving off a delicious scent.
