Description:

Absolutely unique specimen, in which two of the characteristics that distinguish the rarity of a plant are enclosed together: it assumes a crested shape, therefore it is characterized by a compact fan arrangement and by an imperfect geometric trend, to which is added the monstrous peculiarity, constituted by variations in shape such as the presence of protuberances or the absence of thorns that will never be the same from one specimen to another. The combination of the two peculiarities makes this specimen truly rare and, for this reason, extremely coveted by collectors. In its normal form it is a small, globular cactus that is slightly depressed at the apex which, with growth, tends to cling to the base. It has well marked ribs with evident horizontal grooves and short whitish thorns. The color of its stem makes it particular and decidedly captivating: it can take on variations in shades ranging from green to brown or from dark green to bright red, depending on the season and the sun exposure!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 7 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce watering to once every two months in autumn, and to suspend it completely in winter.

The best soil is a well draining one, for example formed by a mixture of peat and pumice so that the water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
