Gymnocalycium mazanense

This cactaceae was first found in La Rioja plateau (Argentina) by the collectors Jörg and Brigitte Piltz. It is a globose cactus of an opaque greyish-green color, it has multiple protuberances, on which large oval and downy white areoles can be seen. It is equipped with dense, sturdy, straight, grayish-white spines, which tend to envelop the body. Its inflorescences are bell-shaped with a silky sheen.
