Gymnocalycium horridispinum

Also known by its scientific name - “Gymnocalycium monvillei subs. Horridispinum”. It is a typically solitary cactacea. The stem which is of a globular shape, slightly concave at the apex, which over time can become columnar. The ribs are well defined, with elliptical downy areoles, from which numerous rigid greyish spines emerge, with a slightly curved tip and of variable dimensions. Flowering occurs around the apex, generating large funnel-shaped flowers of a beautiful bright pink color.
