Gymnocalycium hammerschmidii

The correct name is “Gymnocalycium chiquitanum var. hammerschmidii”. It is a small solitary cactacea that clusters over time. The globular stem, slightly concave at the apex, has well-marked ribs with white downy areoles. The brown-yellowish spines grow in groups of five or more and with their curved shape remain very close to the stem, almost embracing it; over time they tend to rise and lose their color until they become gray. From the small concavity at the apex, beautiful funnel-shaped flowers bloom, they are of pink-lilac colors with magenta shades at the base and inside.
