Gymnocalycium friedrichii

A small solitary cactus with a globular stem, of a reddish-green color. It has well furrowed ribs, where, at the ends, downy white areoles are formed, from which small brown needle-like spines emerge. During the warm periods of the year, it blooms, at the apex, with multiple funnel-shaped flowers of a white-pink or purple color.
