Gymnocalycium baldianum

It is a small, solitary cactus, that clusters over time. It has a globular shape, with a slightly flattened apex, of a color, ranging from green-blue to brown-greyish. It has well-marked ribs with small downy white areoles, from which long and curved spines emerge, that are of a light brown-gray color with reddish shades at the base. It blooms in early summer from an early age and generates large, funnel-shaped, red-purple flowers from the lower areoles.
