Gymnocalycium andreae

This slow-growing cactus exemplar is generally solitary but can also tuft at the base as time goes on. It has a small globose stem, glaucous green and equipped with numerous tuberculate ribs. Above the tubercles are the white and fluffy areoles from which emerge its greyish thorns, radiated, long and thin. G. andreae is very appreciated for its inflorescences: during the flowering period at the apex of the stem bloom beautiful flowers with long and delicate petals of yellow or pale yellow color that give the plant a very attractive appearance and for this reason suitable to decorate any type of environment.
