Grusonia bradtiana

Rather rare cactaceae, consisting of cylindrical stems that tend to branch abundantly with the typical arrangement in contiguous segments, up to give life to a real asymmetric bush high, in nature, over 2 meters! Each segment is formed by strongly tuberculate longitudinal ribs of a beautiful glaucous green very clear and dotted by roundish whitish areoles. From the latter come out almost vitreous radial spines, extremely thin and radiated around the areola; the central spines are, on the contrary, much longer and robust, needle-like and perfectly straight, which tend to pass from the yellow-brownish young age to white in mature plants. At the apex of the segments bloom, in the midst of the thick thorns, large flowers of a yellow so bright as to seem silky, which contrast pleasantly with the extremely wild and fierce character of Grusonia!
