Gracious succulent that does not exceed 5 cm of height, but tends to agglomerate quickly, giving life to pleasant carpets of a characteristic very pale and opaque grayish green. It is formed by short woody stems which end with two couples of leaves fused at the base, extremely fleshy, elongate and characterized by triangular sections. The foliage does not maintain the same length, making the plant even more dynamic with the apex of the longer leaves slightly hooked. One of the strong points of this succulent is undoubtedly the epidermis consistency: G. velutinum, as the name hints, shows itself as delicately velvety to the touch thanks to the presence of a microscopic and thick down which completely covers it. The tenuous look of Gibbaeum is enlivened with the blooming of big daisy-like flowers on the notes of a bright purplish fuchsia.
