Description:

This plant was discovered in South Africa by the collector Steven Brack, who gave it the field number SB646. It is a dwarf succulent, which does not exceed a few centimeters in height, but rather tends to cluster, occupying considerable horizontal spaces. Its leaves are fleshy and opaque, due to a whitish patina, similar to hair, that covers them; they are arranged in a group of two, resembling an open mouth (hence the common name of "shark's mouth"). Like other succulents with a similar appearance, Gibbaeum pubescens will grow and color your rooms with its flowers, which bloom in winter, while in summer it will enter the dormancy period.

Plant care:

It requires an exposure to full sun. However, it can be placed in a partially shaded area only if it still receives a lot of light throughout the year.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately in spring and autumn but only when the soil is completely dry, reduce watering to once every two months in summer and suspend it completely in winter.

The ebst soil is a substrate suitable for succulents, as long as it is well draining and prevents rotting.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
